Who is funding NEOM?

NEOM is a megacity and economic zone being developed in Saudi Arabia by the Saudi Arabian government. It is being funded by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which is overseen by the Saudi Arabian government.

NEOM is being designed as a hub for advanced technology and innovation, and it is intended to be a major economic driver for Saudi Arabia. The project is being led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and it has received significant investment and support from the Saudi Arabian government.

In addition to the funding provided by the PIF, NEOM has also attracted investment from private companies and organizations. For example, in 2017, the SoftBank Group announced a plan to invest up to $25 billion in the project, and in 2018, the Saudi Arabian government announced that it had secured additional investment from a number of international companies, including General Electric, Siemens, and the China Construction Company.
